Now, let us give you a comparative look of campus recreation facilities across the country. We will show you images of recreation facilities from other institutions, both large and small. These images will give you a glimpse of what other students are experiencing on their campuses.
Since UNCG is behind the national standard, what is the true need for additional recreation facilities?
As you can see the National Planning Standard proposes 8.5 to 10.5 gross square feet of recreational space per student. UNCG currently has 4.5 gross square feet and will only have 3.5 gross square feet based on a projected enrollment of 24,000 students.
Hopefully you are asking what UNCG's plan is to increase recreation facilities for our students. The UNCG administration recognizes that additional recreation space is important to the campus community and has started the process for planning a new indoor recreation facility.
