The UNCG Club Sports Program is comprised of student organizations that are competitive, recreational, and/or instructional in nature. Our clubs participate with and compete against other colleges and universities, however they are not part of the NCAA. These recognized student organizations receive support from the Department of Campus Recreation and offer a variety of individual and team sports activities for student involvement. Previous experience is not a prerequisite for Club Sports.
Club Sports is an excellent opportunity for students to continue to play sports at a competitive level while developing and refining leadership skills. Club Sports assist students with leadership development, communication skills, decision-making skills, and working in a team setting.
All UNCG Club Sports are registered student organizations through the Office of Campus Activities and Programs. Club Sports are not varsity athletics. They are student organizations.
Joining a Club
All students are welcome to join a club sport. Membership in a club cannot be descriminated against on the basis of age, gender, race, sexual orientation, political affiliation, religious beliefs, or athletic ability. As many of our clubs are competitive in nature, membership in a club does not guarantee playing time. You can find more information about each of our clubs by visiting the Current Clubs page. Each club has its own unique membership requirements. Questions about these requirements, practice times, and upcoming schedules can be found on the specific club’s page or by contacting the club’s officers.
