Employment

The Department of Campus Recreation encourages students to apply for employment at the Rec Center. Approximately 140 students are employed during the academic year. The Rec Center is a convenient place to work for on-campus students, and affords all students a valuable experience. UNCG Faculty/Staff $240.00/year
UNCG Faculty/Staff Spouse/Lifemate Membership $240.00/year
Student Spouse/Lifemate Membership $80.00/semester
*Alumni Membership $260.00/year

A UNCG Department of Campus Recreation informed consent, liability waiver, indemnification and agreement for emergency medical treatment must be signed at the time of payment for: an individual membership, the spouse or lifemate of a member, Family Weekend participants, and guests. Participants under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian sign a Minor Participant Waiver on their behalf.

Fees

Students

  • Students who are currently enrolled, registered for classes and their tuition and fees paid, do not need to pay any additional fee to use the Student Recreation Center.

Student Spouses/Lifemates Fees

  • Students may sponsor their spouse/lifemate for membership. The fee is $80.00 for each semester the student sponsor is enrolled, registered and has all fees paid.
  • A Student Recreation Center ID card will be made for entry into the Rec Center.

Faculty and Staff Fees

  • Annual fees are $240.00. Permanent full-time and part-time (at least 3/4 time) UNCG employees may elect to use payroll deduction to pay their fees ($20.00 per month), or pay by cash, check or credit card
  • Part-time (less than 3/4 time) and temporary employees may join for the same price but can not use payroll deduction. They must pay for their membership using cash, check or credit card. Temporary employees should provide a letter from their department confirming their position and length of assignment
  • Minimum membership is three months for ALL members!

Faculty and Staff Spouse/Lifemate Fees

  • Spouse/Lifemate fees are the same cost of $240.00/year. The UNCG sponsoring employee may elect to use payroll deduction to pay their spouse's/lifemate's fee ($20.00/month), or pay by cash, check or credit card.
  • A Student Recreation Center ID card will be made for entry into the Rec Center.
  • Minimum membership is three months for ALL members!

Retiree Membership Fees

  • Retirees of UNCG are able to join the Rec Center for the same fee of $240.00/year. Membership fees must be paid by cash, check or credit card.
  • A Student Recreation Center ID card will be made for entry into the Rec Center.
  • Retirees may also sponsor their spouses/lifemates for the same fee of $240.00/year. Membership fees have to be paid by cash, check or credit card, and a Student Recreation Center ID card will be made for the spouse/lifemate.
  • Minimum membership is three months for ALL members!

*UNCG Alumni Membership Fees

  • Campus Recreation welcomes UNCG alumni. To join the Rec Center we must be able to confirm a graduation date. Those who have attended UNCG, but not graduated are not able to purchase an Alumni membership.
  • The annual fee is $260.00, which can be paid quarterly ($65.00), semi-annually ($130.00) or in full.
  • The alumnus must complete a Membership Enrollment Form and pay the appropriate fee.
  • A temporary pass will be issued until the permanent Student Recreation Center ID card is completed.

The replacement fee for lost or stolen Rec Center ID cards is $15.00.

Medical Concerns

Participants in all programs sponsored by the Department of Campus Recreation should be aware that injuries may occur as a result of such participation. Participants should not undertake any strenuous activity without consulting a physician. Should you incur an injury, the Senior Supervisor on duty has first aid supplies and access to an emergency telephone.
