The Fitness Program provides the UNCG community with events and programs that enhance physical and mental performance, increase self-understanding through health education, and foster long-term healthy lifestyle choices. We strive to create a welcoming, respectful, and inspiring environment for participants in our quest to build a healthier UNCG.
With Campus Recreation Fitness, you have many options to achieve your health and fitness goals. Choose from one of our many Group Exercise classes or work out on our state-of-the-art fitness equipment.
Try out our fitness classes from August 26 – September 30, get BINGO, and win a prize! The first 20 participants to get BINGO in a traditional way and submit their card to the Campus Recreation Administrative Suite will win a FREE T-SHIRT. Only one class per day is eligible for scoring. Even after the first 20 shirts are given away, we will still collect cards with Bingo, until September 30th, to be placed in a raffle drawing on October 1st. Winners will be emailed. You may pick up your BINGO Card from any Group Exercise Instructor during class.

UNCG Spartan 300
Small Group Personal Training presents the opportunity for people to experience the benefits of high-intensity cardio and strength workouts with a trainer while in a group setting. You will use specialized equipment such as Kettlebells, VIPR, and BOSU among others. UNCG Spartan 300 is a 6-week program offered twice as semester, meeting two times per week: Monday & Wednesday. Both programs have a max occupancy of 6 participants.

Couch to 5k
We are pround to introduce our Couch to 5K training program. Sessions will be held every Monday / Wednesday / Friday from 4:00pm – 5:00pm between September 6 & October 25. Registration ends August 30.

Zumba on the Quad
Date/Time: September 4 / 5:00pm
Zumba is well known for getting people moving. With Zumba on the Quad, our participants will be grooving and exercising while enjoying the scenic beauty of UNCG’s award winning Quad. Our regular 5pm class at the Student Recreation Center will be relocated to the Quad for this event. In case of inclement weather, we will move the class back to the Student Recreation Center Fitness Studio.
Yoga on Kaplan Commons
September is Mental Health Month. Campus Recreation is pleased to offer Yoga on Kaplan Commons (EUC Lawn) September 18th 5-6pm. Yoga is an excellent way to clear your mind and reduce stress. No previous experience is required.
Participants are asked to bring a towel or yoga mat.
