Fitness

The Fitness Program provides the UNCG community with events and programs that enhance physical and mental performance, increase self-understanding through health education, and foster long-term healthy lifestyle choices. We strive to create a welcoming, respectful, and inspiring environment for participants in our quest to build a healthier UNCG.


Group Exercise

With Campus Recreation Fitness, you have many options to achieve your health and fitness goals. Choose from one of our many Group Exercise classes or work out on our state-of-the-art fitness equipment.

BINGO

Try out our fitness classes from January 21st – February 28th, get BINGO, and win a prize! The first 20 participants to get BINGO in a traditional way and submit their card to the Campus Recreation Administrative Suite will win a FREE T-SHIRT. Only one class per day is eligible for scoring. Even after the first 20 shirts are given away, we will still collect cards with Bingo, until February 28th, to be placed in a raffle drawing on March 1st. Winners will be emailed. You may pick up your BINGO Card from any Group Exercise Instructor during class.

  • Cardio: Hoop Dance, Circuit, BOSU, Move N Grrove, Zumba
  • Yoga/Pilates: Yoga, Pilates
  • Strength: Boot Camp, Strength, RIP, TRX
  • Cycle: Cycle, Namaste Cycle
  • TRX: Any TRX Class
  • Aqua: Any Aqua Class

Personal Training

Not sure how to do it on your own? We are here for you! Ask one of our Fitness Assistant for a Equipment Orientation or sign up for an individual or partner Personal Training sessions.

UNCG Spartan 300

Small Group Personal Training presents the opportunity for people to experience the benefits of high-intensity cardio and strength workouts with a trainer while in a group setting. You will use specialized equipment such as Kettlebells, VIPR, and BOSU among others. UNCG Spartan 300 is a 6-week program offered twice as semester, meeting two times per week: Monday & Wednesday. Both programs have a max occupancy of 6 participants.

Special Programs

Bench Press Competition

Bench Press Competition UNCG Campus Recreation is excited to host our first-ever Bench Press Competition Saturday, March 29th. The competition will be held in the UNCG Student Recreation Center. Registration runs February 27th thru March 27th at 5:00pm. We will have seven (7) weight classes for women and nine (9) weight classes for men. Awards will be given to the overall top-three in both the men’s and women’s divisions in addition to single winners for each weight class.

Quad Cup

Quad CupCalling all Quad Residents. Here is your chance to demonstrate your Residence Hall’s dominance in the first ever Quad Cup. This competition will square off teams of 8-10 students in various events. Teams can win points for demonstrating good sportsmanship, creativeness with team name, flag, & costume, and of course, how you place in the events.

Zumba Caribbean Flava

Quad CupCome get your Zumba Caribbean Flava with Zumba Jammer Erica Dixon. The event will be held March 30th 1:00pm – 2:15pm at the Student Recreation Center.

Tickets are only $5.00 for students and can be purchased on-line here.
