Exercise at the Rec
Our knowledgeable Fitness Assistants are available to assist patrons with equipment use and set up. Staff can also provide spotting assistance and answer basic exercise questions. If you have more advanced exercise questions, need help designing an exercise program, or wish to have your workout designed and supervised by a certified personal trainer, check out our personal training program.
The Student Recreation Center Weight Rooms are located on the entry level of the building to the left of the front desk. The Exercise Room and Free Weight Room house a variety of strength training selectorized, plate loaded, and free weight equipment such as Cybex, Free Motion, Hammer Strength, Iron Grip, and Life Fitness.
A variety of cardio equipment is located mainly on the 2nd floor of the SRC, throughout the track area and near the Exercise Room. We offer Concept II Rowers, Cybex Arc Trainers, Automatic Motion Trainers, LifeFitness recumbent and upright bikes and cross trainers, Precor elliptical trainers, SciFit Upper Body Ergometer, Stairmaster stair climbers, Expresso Bikes, and Woodway treadmills. Ask our trained Fitness Assistants to show you how to get started on your first visit. They can also give you a brief orientation to our facilities and equipment.
Equipment Orientation – FREE
An Equipment Orientation is an introductory session for individuals who are new to exercise or have questions about our equipment or facilities . Receive an orientation on the proper usage of the cardiovascular and resistance training machines. Please see the Fitness Assistant on duty for your free equipment orientation.
