Kayak Pool Sessions

kayak pool1

Want to see what it is like to paddle a kayak? Already have experience and want to work on your kayak roll? Regardless of your experience level, the kayak pool session is your chance to learn new skills or enhance existing skills. For those new to the sport, our experienced kayak staff will teach you skills such as: basic paddle strokes; how to wet exit (the process for safely exiting a capsized kayak); assisted rescues; and proper technique for the kayak roll (the process of getting yourself upright if you capsize). We teach at your pace–we simply want to share with you the sport we love. Be sure to take advantage of this great opportunity to learn the key skills of kayaking or get some warm up for your next trip!

Please note that kayak pool sessions are drop-in format, therefore, no advanced reservations are needed. Whether you come for a half-hour or all two hours is up to you.

FREE for UNCG Students/Student Recreation Center members *Guests are welcome, but must be accompanied by a student/SRC member and pay a $6.00 fee @ the Student Rec Center Main Desk prior to participation.
